Bundestagspräsidentin Julia Klöckner nimmt am 3. und 4. Mai 2026 auf Einladung des Sprechers des dänischen Parlaments, Søren Gade, an der Konferenz der Parlamentspräsidentinnen und -präsidenten der EU-Mitgliedstaaten (EU-PPK) in Kopenhagen teil. Die Gäste werden am ersten Abend vom dänischen König Frederik X. empfangen. Das hochrangige Treffen beschäftigt sich mit dem Wandel der politischen Weltordnung und dessen Folgen für die Widerstandsfähigkeit demokratischer Systeme in Europa. Die Bundestagspräsidentin wird dazu auf der Konferenz eine Keynote halten. Geplant ist auch ein Besuch der dänischen Katastrophenschutzbehörde (DEMA), deren Kernaufgabe darin besteht, die Gesellschaft auf Krisen vorzubereiten, diese zu verhindern und darauf zu reagieren. Julia Klöckner: „Gerade in unruhigen Zeiten zeigt sich die Stärke der Demokratie und ihre Widerstandsfähigkeit. Demokratische Resilienz entsteht, wenn unterschiedliche Positionen sichtbar werden und Wiederspruch nicht unterdrückt, sondern ausgehalten wird. Weil Demokratien in kontroversen Debatten dazulernen und sich erneuern können – das unterscheidet uns von Autokraten. Wir sind dann stark und wehrhaft, wenn wir unsere Positionen vor dem Hintergrund einer soliden Grundhaltung immer wieder kritisch hinterfragen und an die Gegebenheiten anpassen.“ Vor Ort wird die Bundestagspräsidentin zudem mit ihrer irischen Amtskollegin, Verona Murphy, sowie mit dem Präsidenten des grönländischen Parlaments, Kim Kielsen, zu bilateralen Gesprächen zusammenkommen.
