On June 2, 2026, Prime Minister Mark Carney and Québec Premier Christine Fréchette unveiled a landmark agreement between the Government of Canada and the Government of Québec, committing nearly CA$10 billion over the next decade to renew and expand public transit, health care, housing and educational infrastructure across the province.
DoD Expands Section 1260H “Chinese Military Companies” List
United States: On June 8, 2026, the US Department of Defense (“DoD”) updated the “Section 1260H List.” The List identifies entities that the Secretary of Defense determines are “Chinese military companies operating directly or indirectly in the United States or any of its territories and possessions.”

United Kingdom: The UK is a signatory to the Council of Europe's Framework Convention on AI. In doing so, it commits to working towards domestic implementation of binding international principles on human rights, democracy and the rule of law in AI. Implementation is expected to integrate into existing UK legal and regulatory frameworks. It will not be fully legally binding until it is ratified by the UK – currently no date has been set for this.
